is an ebook? |
KarateTips ebooks are electronic publications similar to *.pdf files as used
by Adobe Acrobat. In order to view ebook files, you must have a PC (not a MAC) and the ebook viewer must
be installed on your computer. Later versions of ebooks (after 2005) include the viewer, however earlier versions require a separate download before you can open your ebooks. You can download the viewer here:

| Are
there any special requirements needed for my computer? |
All you need is 2.6mb of disk space on your PC , Windows operating
system, and
Internet Explorer 4.0 or above!
Your version of Internet Explorer must support
128 Bit Encryption.
If you get an error message when trying to register your Ebook about not
supporting 128 bit encryption, you can solve this quickly and easily by installing the Internet Explorer High Encryption pack. Simply select
the version of the High Encryption Pack from the right side of the following
page. Download time is typically less than one minute. Click
here to go to upgrade your browser. (this
link opens in a new window)
Please note, e-books cannot be installed on Apple Mac computers.

| When
trying to register I get the error message - Server busy. Please try
again later. |
This error occurs for two reasons. Firstly the server is in fact busy
in which case please try again later.
However this usually occurs when
you are on a network accessing the internet through a proxy server, or sometimes because of an internet firewall. To
work around this problem, please see the answer to the next question!

your e-book. Enter your user details and the e-book will be registered with

| Can
I install my e-book on more than one computer? |
Your e-book can be installed on multiple computers, however you can only
have one ACTIVE copy of your e-book at a time. For example if you have
a
computer at work you could install the e-book viewer, register the e-book
and read your e-book at work. If you wanted to view your e-book at home
also, you would first have to "un register" your work copy. On
the home computer you could then "reregister" your e-book with
your username and password.
To un register your e-book, open the e-book viewer and click on the "U"
on the toolbar. This will enable you to un register your copy. Then on your
second computer after you have installed the e-book viewer and downloaded
the e-book, you can "reregister" with your username and password
and your e-book will be unlocked.

| How
can I be sure my credit card information is protected? |
All transactions are protected by 128 bit (high) encryption so your sensitive
details remain private and confidential. When you place your order, the
system checks to see if your credit card is legitimate and then checks available
funds in your account. It then accepts your order and transfers the funds
through Authorize.net - the world's leading online credit card authority - in exchange for your
e-books.
You then will be sent a confirmation e-mail from both Authorize.net
as a receipt of your order, plus e-mail from KarateTips confirming your
order together with your e-book unlock codes. No credit card details are
stored by KarateTips. It's safe and secure! (Secure online transactions
are the safest way to purchase goods and services. Secure transactions are
actually more safe than mail-in forms or telephone orders!)

- Confusing Characters!
Also please ensure that you are typing the correct characters. Sounds pretty simple huh? Sometimes the lower case "L" is mistaken for the number one.
A lower case "L" looks like this --> l
The number one looks like this ---> 1
Other characters mistaken frequently are the upper case "o" which is confused with zero.
An upper case "o" looks like this --> O
The zero looks like this --> 0
- Best Practice
The best way to avoid sign in problems is to copy and paste your username and password directly from your welcome e-mail That way you will be assured of entering the correct details.

We are constantly looking for fresh new ideas and information to publish on our site. If you think you might have something that you'd like to share, we'd like to hear about it.
We do not pay our authors for any content supplied. However, in return you get your article and a small brief about you and your club published with your article. Your article will be exposed to a global audience and once published, remains in the KarateTips archive for all to see and read. The benefit to you and your school is more exposure and more traffic to your web site.
Tips for getting your article published with KarateTips.com
Please do -
- make your article interesting and valuable to other people
- make your article unique if possible
- spell check your work before submitting
- provide diagrams and/or photos to help explain your point
- re-read our terms and conditions, particularly the part about Content
Please do not -
- make your article an advertising campaign. Remember we will provide a brief about you with a link to your site. Your article needs to be interesting, not something like - visit our web site and have your credit card ready because we are the best.
